I'm awaiting a hip replacement operation and experience chronic severe pain. I have been on incapacity benefit for eighteen months and my doctor has advised me that I cannot return to work until I've recovered from surgery. Yet the doctor who did a recent medical when my benefit was being reviewed disagreed and passed me fit for work. I'm now under pressure to get work, uncertain about my income and feeling very fearful for the future. My GP's horrified, but I seem to be in a difficult situation. What can I do?
I recently booked flights with a budget airline for a European City break. When I got to the airport I found that, despite having e-mail booking confirmation, we weren't booked on to the flight. My credit card statement shows that I paid for the tickets, but the airline won't take telephone calls and hasn't responded to the letter I sent six weeks ago.
My son and his wife are getting divorced. We're really worried that we may not be able to see our grandson anymore. Is there anything we can do? What rights do we have?
I’m a British citizen. We have a family wedding coming up and my cousin from Jamaica wants to come to the UK for it. Can you explain the family visitor rules for her?
I'm renting an old house at the moment and it gets quite cold and draughty. The central heating system doesn't work properly. My neighbour told me her daughter had something called a Home Front Grant. Can you tell me anything about the grants?
I'm really worried about getting into debt because I've been paid too much working tax credit. The overpayment's being deducted from my child tax credit at a rate that leaves me without enough to pay my family's daily living expenses. I'm trying to cope on less money than when I received income support and I can't afford my bills. Can you help?
